Albuquerque plastic surgeon discusses the danger of smoking around the time of a facelift.

Should I stop smoking around the time of a facelift?

Yes. Smoking delays healing and can cause areas of skin to die leaving bad scars. Dr. Hudson likes his patients to stop smoking for at least two weeks before and after their operation. If you need help to stop, contact the American Lung Association 212/315 8700.
