| Almost all surgery can be repeated. Still for most patients this is not needed. As time passes you may find that you need to modify or "update" something that was done several years ago. This is usually not a problem. In one study over 94 of patients felt the operation was worthwhile and over 82 would do it again.
Localized area of laxity or fat deposit may need surgical correction but it is relatively unusual to need a complete secondary blepharoplasty. The results of the original operation often last a surprising length of time. If secondary surgery is performed the amount of skin which can be removed is small and great care must be taken to avoid excess removal and an ectropion. Secondary fat removal can be difficult because of scar tissue and is often unnecessary.
