Liposuction may be good for your health
Recent studies have confirmed what many experienced surgeons have thought for years, some patent's risk of heart disease and diabetes may be improved by large volume liposuction. When large amounts of fat are removed people experience changes in fat metabolism that can lead to improvements in blood pressure, total body fat and insulin levels without a risk of loss in bone mass or adverse change in blood lipid (fat) levels.
Time will tell whether these findings are consistent in the long term but for now it can be said that evidence does exist that in some patients general health can be improved with liposuction. - copyright Patrick Hudson MDPA 505/242 0070 - Read more of this article: Liposuction may be good for your health and then find out more about liposuction As always you can email Dr. Hudson if you have any questions. Ethnic Makeovers - As more nonwhites get cosmetic surgery, one nose no longer fits all
Chareese Hayes wanted a new nose. She thought hers made her look "like a character in an old Italian movie." But she didn't want one that was "pointy" or that would make her "look white." So when the 36-year-old African-American software engineer started shopping for a plastic surgeon to do her rhinoplasty, or nose job, she chose from a growing number of doctors who specialize in changing the look of minority patients without erasing their ethnic identity. The number of nonwhite Americans opting for cosmetic surgery quadrupled between 1997 and 2002, to more than 1 million a year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Nonwhites present a special challenge for plastic surgeons, who for years were taught to give every face that came to them Anglo-Saxon eyelids and a classic Greek or Roman nose. Today plastic-surgery journals are filled with articles about rhinoplasty for African Americans and Hispanics and blepharoplasty (eye lifts) for Asians. - copyright Time - Read more of this article: Ethnic Makeovers - As more nonwhites get cosmetic surgery, one nose no longer fits all and then find out more about ethnic aspects of cosmetic surgery As always you can email Dr. Hudson if you have any questions. Ugly Bargains
Unlicensed Practitioners Make Cosmetic Surgery Cheap, but Dangerous In the course of his career, undercover agent Tom Curry says he's seen scars "that look like the person was hit by a chain saw." He's "seen surgical incisions that became infected." Curry works for the only unit in the nation dedicated to investigating fake doctors — Florida Department of Health's Unlicensed Practitioners Unit. Florida's largest city, Miami, is a place where beauty is constantly on display — as well as one of the top three places in the country to go for cosmetic surgery. But since the procedures can be pricey, some people have been searching for bargains — going to dangerous lengths to become more beautiful - copyright ABC News - Read more of this article: Ugly Bargains and then find out more about finding a plastic surgeon As always you can email Dr. Hudson if you have any questions. Tourists dream of bigger breasts
Nice tan -- the young woman in the pink bikini smiled knowingly as she soaked up the rays by the poolside of a luxury hotel on the Malaysian resort island of Penang. Corina van Leeuwen, a bubbly 25-year-old, would be taking more than just a glowing complexion back to the Netherlands by the end of her holiday. "It's gone from a small B to a big C, it has grown one and a half in cup size," she said, surveying her breasts with pride. "I am very happy with it, with them." - copyright UK Reuters - Read more of this article: Tourists dream of bigger breasts and then find out more about getting surgery done on vacation As always you can email Dr. Hudson if you have any questions.
