Dr. Hudson has been in private practice in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and New Mexico for over thirty years. He offers both plastic surgery and psychotherapy. During that time he has been actively involved in the community and his skills and service have been recognized by the local government and citizens. He is the only plastic surgeon voted Albuquerque's "Best Plastic Surgeon" by Albuquerque Monthly Magazine and a “Top Doc" by Albuquerque The Magazine.
Dr. Hudson's contributions to Albuquerque, and New Mexico, are numerous and have included:
• primary sponsorship of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop
• volunteer services to the Healing the Children Foundation
• founded the tattoo removal program for gang members of the City of Albuquerque
• established New Mexico's first wound care program.
• as a result of his involvement in the community he was honored by a proclamation from the Mayor and City Council and voted Albuquerque's best plastic surgeon.
• He is a keen supporter of dressage in New Mexico and sponsored the national USDF dressage symposium featuring Conrad Schumacher.
Over many years in practice, Dr. Hudson has learned that patients need three things from their doctor: experience, education & empathy. As both a psychotherapist and plastic surgeon, he is uniquely trained to provide these things. His interest is in Existential Depth Psychotherapy — using the techniques developed from May, Yalom, Binswanger, Boss, Szasz, Fromm, Freud, Jung, etc. . His special interests are in Counseling for Physicians, Couples Counseling for Physicians & Their Partners, Body Image, Personal Growth & Life Transition, Mid-Life Counseling for Men & Women, Sexual Dysfunction & problems for men and women.
